Fast Cars and Rock N Roll in Austin, Texas

The Formula One US Grand Prix swept Austin this past weekend, and seeing as the city is known as “the live music capital of the world”, there was a lot of live music to go with it.

Social commerce company Bazaarvoice hosted a free three-day concert called “Austin’s Best Rated and Reviewed, A Fan Fest Music Series”.  The event was produced by AvecMode (co-creator of SXSW’s style program) along with The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and Deep Eddy Vodka.

Performers included Sahara Smith, DJ Orion of the Peligrosa All-Stars, Quiet Company, T Bird and the Breaks, Danny Malone, Akina Adderley and the Vintage Playboys, and Sara Hickman.  Attendees included racing fans in town for the Grand Prix, lots of live-music-lovin’ locals, and even Harry Potter star Rupert Grint (who happens to be a big Formula One fan).

All in all, I heard it was a lot of fun and I wish I could’ve been there!  After all, who doesn’t love a weekend full of fast cars and rock n roll?
